Spreading the Love

Right now I'm knitting and crocheting squares for a blanket for a little girl I will never know. I'm doing it because I want the last parts of her life to be comfortable and for her to know that even strangers care about what happens to her. The link is to LaughLoveKnit's blog and the story is touching.
Won't you join me?
An excerpt from Megan's blog:
I try to keep my blog as upbeat as possible. But there are times when serious matters need to be discussed, this is one of those times.  A good friend of mine told me today that his 6 year old daughter was diagnosed with Cushings syndrome.  A horrible disease caused by using steroids for too long.   In this wonderful girls case, it was steroids to help handle her asthma.  This horrible disease could steal her life.  Because I hate feeling helpless when a young child is sick and in need like this I want to help. But because of the severity and urgency of the matter I need help.  So I’m asking my friends to make a square to help me make her a blanket.  Because of her skin allergies and sensitives the square needs to be out of 100% cotton.  Colors don’t matter, anything that you think a 6 year old girl would enjoy!  Pattern doesn’t matter, I’m just asking that squares be as close to 12 inches square as possible.  I have a bunch of off white cotton that I’ll use to join squares.  I will wash the blanket in special wash before sending so you may soak/block your squares if you wish.
Thank you.
