Themes...

OK, um, yeah. I hate Valentines Day. I think that it's a made up holiday birthed by an industry that only hopes to perpetuate itself--and not to encourage love as it professes with all it's hearty heart-ness, that it encourages the purchase of even more extraneous garbage, and is arcane in it's efforts to perpetuate the myth of monogamy. Never mind the fact that I've never enjoyed being excluded from things and all I can remember about the holiday is standing outside of it looking in, bewildered. That having been said, I'm a sucker for a theme...and it appears that I may have subliminally succumbed to some things, unwittingly and certainly while disdaining both garbage and monogamy :)
This kit here is the newest installment of the Rubber Ducky Club. It's a 2oz of Pima cotton dyed by the lovely ladies at The Unique Sheep
The soap is hand-made and has that homemade soapy smell and texture that reminds me of my childhood. The cutie little ducky stitch marker is wonderful too. There's a group on Ravelry for support and pattern ideas (you provide your own pattern). I haven't decided what to make it into yet but this is what I did with the last one...
This...

Became these...

This next bit of loveliness is from The Loopy Ewe and was their Valentines offering (shush now, I bought it for myself because I like yarn and I'm supporting cottage industry and after recycling and re-purposing every bit of packaging, it was a zero garbage affair :)

Sigh, this last bit however, I blame on Vickie Howell...

So sue me...
