Tide Pooling

So, my new sock club installment from Blue Moon got here on Saturday and at the risk of sounding ridiculously redundant (that is, I say this every time) I. Love. It.
And yet again, nothing that I would have ordered...hmmm

I really enjoy the "Dyer's Notes" that come with each installment. They are lovely short stories that give light to how the colors and patterns came to be. It must be wonderful to have a thought and watch it come to fruition...
They also contain amazing photos and details about how the patterns come about...

I'm having a little trouble with the cabling rows but only on the one that crosses left. I'm using a coil-less pin to hold the stitch and use it to hoist the little bugger back up on the needle. The right crossing one is no trouble since I can just smash the loose stitch against my finger until I can grab it again. The rest of the rib is just knit the knits a purl the purls so, you know, I can do that :) I'm trying to decide if I'm going to do the heel according to the pattern, I prefer a short row...butl, I still have several inches to go before I have to decide :)

Stash Enhancement

So, did someone hear me say something about having enough yarn? Because I apparently missed it...
In all fairness, this one was a TOTAL accident. I had accidentally logged on to Ravelry, had accidentally been lurking the Wollmeise boards and accidentally noticed that the Loopy Ewe had an update :)
Above is Zenzi in the Dark 100% superwash...Then there is this beauty...
The thing with this one is, I kinda don't want to talk about it because, other people haven't noticed the dyer and her amazing colorways...but, for you faithful readers (Hi, Mom, Aunt Pat, Michelle and Peg!) I'll spill the beans...It's Handgefaerbt and it's wonderfully soft *sigh*
Now this here below is a bit of a miracle. See, the Wollmeise dyer decided to have a sock club but so many people wanted in she decided to have a raffle to be fair. I saw the raffle was on via the Lime 'n' Violet Daily Chum and thought, "What the hell?!" I had absolutely no thoughts about what I would do if I won the raffle and got a spot in the sock club, but you know what I did do? I paid the fee and lo and behold, here is my beautiful sock yarn!!

Oh yes, that's TWO beautiful skeins of some of the most coveted yarn on the Interwebs. In addition to the yarn were some lovely dark wood dpn's, a ruler, a pattern with dyers notes and some marzipan...I think I'm in love :)

Pride

This small sample represents my daughter's first stash item. She picked it out all by herself at our last trip to Tempe Yarn and Fiber. Fred (whom she blew kisses and said, "I love you," to) who is her favorite yarnisto was there and HRH picked out this gem to take home (they are strategically placed at the register for just such a stash generating urge). All I can say is; sparkles and red...
That having been said, the hedgehog was a great success and the recipient was appropriately enthralled. Unfortunately so was the family dog, so Hedgie is hangin' in the "baby cage" (the play pen dubbed thus by HRH).
Next up, stash enhancement a la Mommie :)

Infestation...

We've been taken over...

It started out innocently enough but then, things got out of control :)

They're BFF's right now but the pink one is going to a friend at work and the brown one is a gift for our new (new in February) nephew...yes, yes I'm making one for HRH but I want to get a really cool color combo going, I'm thinking teal wool with bright purple funfur...

On other fronts (and backs and sleeves *snark*) I'm working a Drops sweater...Tailored Cardigan using Kauni in a wonderful pink to tan long repeat wool...

I've only the back left, maybe I'll even finish it by the time it cools off here (like in October :)
