An Open Letter of Apology

In my last post I accused the Masters of the Blogiverse of eating my post thus forcing me to pout and to try to reclaim all that spontaneous and witty reparte...upon further review, it has come to my attention that it was in fact USER ERROR since I found the post saved as a draft (as it should have been) *ahem* on...my...other blog.

That is all...

Onward to knitting matters...I'm waiting for my Socks That Rock January kit. My check hasn't been deposited yet, but I'm just waiting patiently and WILL NOT email or call to find out why these lovely and hard working ladies (and gentlemen?) haven't deposited my money yet...although I have considered sending them more :) In the mean time I decided to finish my pair of Duets socks (from the Loopy Ewe)...do some actual work and play with my daughter...I have many things planned and I can feel the trickle of a breeze that will be a veritable TORRENT of knitting...soon...no really! I might have even ordered a kit from Tsarina Tsocks (in the Vintage merlot colorway) that may or may not have gorgeous little leaves all over them...heh, heh heh...leaves...

So, that's when something really weird happened....

Honestly, I don't know what hit me. I've never spun anything in my life--ever. And yet, there it was in my shopping cart...smiling all cute like. It's 4 oz of alpaca, and called Briar Rose by Sakina Needles. It's very soft and nothing if not a little intimidating...It wasn't my fault really, I was just poking around the Loopy Ewe hoping to catch a sneak up, and it was right there in the "what's new" section...it must have been ether-yarn-fumes...honestly.

Tidying Up

OK, try again. The Masters of the Blogiverse saw fit to eat my previous post...let's hope I can remember all that witty reparte...
So, it was something, something about-- OH, yeah, the dangling knitting project. It was this cool idea I had about crocheting with garland!!

But, I've decided to punt it to next year. I just bought some thinnish garland and some beaded rope from Target and chained the garland until it looked like it would make a wide enough circle to be an evening bag, then crocheted around and around until it was big enough. You would then sew up the bottom and attach the strap (as short or as long as you like!) Just make sure that you keep your stitches very, very loose otherwise, it gets choked up and you could break the garland and need to re-join. But even that ain't no thang but a chicken wang...the garland is very forgiving of mistakes....

Still, I feel like I'm in the knitting doldrums, but somehow there are two and a half FO's in my house...a sock...

this hat I made for my Hubby...

and this hat for me...

These are my cheat sheets...

Since I'm a teacher, I love to laminate (or maybe it's my love of laminating that brought me to teaching, hard to tell)--- ask anyone, it's my weakness. If there's something that can be laminated I won't be afraid to do it=) I laminated each step of this, the Unoriginal Hat (in pdf format) from the Yarn Harlot, that way, I can just flip to the next step and always know where I am. An added bonus is the gift tags I found on sale at Target's post Chrismas sale, I can attach a bit of the yarn I used to it and write down the name and date too.
*As soon as Blogger will let me up load pictures you can see some of these lovely images (tbhthththt!!! neener neener neener!!!)
**Done :)

Happy New Year 2008!!!

I haven't been around, I know. I also have a dangling project... which means I suck. I don't really have any particular reason to be slacking; Pre-Christmas visitors, Early Christmas visits, Christmas proper, my birthday (I barfed all day), the PLAGUE hitting my house (all nine of us went down hard), New Year's Eve (total lack of celebration here-I think we were all in bed by 8:30), a house filled with people until yesterday...you know, that old lame excuse. But still, I'm in the knitting doldrums and I can't seem to drag myself out. I had a moment of inspiration with a post from the Yarn Harlot and I'm knitting a sock with an afterthought heel...

That's Duet Sock Yarn in Modern Chic from The Loopy Ewe, but it's suffering from First Sock Syndrome...I have a lovely cake of Noro Sock Yarn, I got from TLE, but it's just sitting there...

...n0thing's blowing my skirt up so I'm just waiting it out...I even got my Spring issue of Vogue Knitting and only had twitches of desire...must be Seasonal Knitless Disorder...I hope it rectifies itself soon *sigh*
