I f&*#kin love acrylic :)

yeah, I said it and I meant it too!

I also love Halloween but that's just because there is so much fun stuff associated with the holiday; bad nail polish, bad hosiery and my very favorite in the whole world, glow.in.the.dark.

So, as soon as I found it I went and bought some Bernat Glow in the Dark yarn. Now, I don't know what y'all automatically think of when you buy glow in the dark stuff but I immediately think-beer. Maybe it's because after a few you kinda do...anyway, I made one of these.

It's a simple 2x2 rib (CO 32 stitches). K2, p2 for 6 or 7 rows and then cable all the knits to the front (purls in back), k 5 rows, then cable the knits to the front (purls back), knit 5 rows then cable the knits 'n' purls the same way, and knit three rows. Close up with a k2tog, k4* (*repeat to the end-it's ok if there is one stitch extra), knit a plain round. K2tog, k3*, knit a round. K2tog, k2*, knit a round and finally k2tog all around. Knit a round and then draw the tail through the last 8 stitches. The yarn calls for a US 8, I used a US10 because I used one strand of Glow Worm White and one strand of Lilac Luster.
I like that it's a beer coozy and it's kinda woozy...

and if you should ever drink in the dark, well--now you can find yer beer :)

Of course, you can use it as a soda coozy...but it won't be nearly as funny after 3-4 diet cokes.

I must say - I love this! It makes me laugh every time I think of it, mainly because of the people I know who would enjoy it. I can almost hear them "that's so f#$%@!!kin cool - now I can find my beer!" ahaaaaha! Thanks for the idea/laugh!
