That's a baby blanket for my new nephew. It's Fiesta Boomerang in Quince from The Loopy Ewe and the pattern is Crest o' the Wave from Wendy Knits. It's fabulous but it's taking me a long time to make because I'm kinda mad at it. I had wanted to make it out of a different yarn, and had even knit several inches, but I couldn't get more of the yarn I wanted and so I had to rip it back and pick new yarn so it's kind of an also-ran thing...no reflection on my nephew, though!!
I'm also working on these toe-socks out of left over sock yarn...

It's Black Purl from Lorna's Laces (purchased at The Loopy Ewe) and I just make the toe of a sock and stop and put some ribbing in when it covers the ball of my foot (I wear them with my mules during the summer-keeps my feet from being so sweaty-eeew I know sorry). Excellent use for left over sock yarn, btw.
Lastly I have some fabulous news (and I checked Tina said it was OK)
I bet y'all will never guess what it is :)... it's my homework

I am going to Sock Camp!!!!Yes, people there is a summer camp (it's actually in the spring) for folks who knit socks and yes, I paid for the privilege to go there :) Part of the fun that is sock camp is that it's held in a beautiful hotel, in picturesque surroundings and there are lots and lots of yarn shop denizens. It's like being a geek in high school and suddenly finding the secret door that takes you to "your people" where instantly you're transformed from geek to Greek. Another part of this fun is the homework that you get...yeah, I know, who's happy about homework? Well, me-when it's fun! I have to take those scraps and make a toilet paper cover, so (of course) immediately I went to work and ...I...CAN'T...WAIT!!!
